Apeks Regulator XTX 200 DIN

The XTX 200 regulator can be converted from a right handed hose configuration (as supplied from the APEKS factory in the standard) to a left handed one. This regulator also features a Reversible Venturi System (RVS). Changing the regulator to a left handed configuration is both quick and simple and can be performed by any APEKS Authorised Service Technician. Updated version, flexible hose, 1 Stage can be modified to 5 outlets, second antibacterial Regulators stage, new Venturi lever.

The XTX200 regulator incorporates the new feature of the Diver Changeable Exhaust System (DCE). This system gives the diver the ability to change from a small exhaust to a large exhaust tee. This gives the user a choice of the wider exhaust tee for minimal bubble interference (essential for underwater photography) and the narrow exhaust tee for a smaller compact comfortable regulator (ideal for travel or for use as an octopus regulator). The exhausts are made from strong, yet light-weight material, essential for the diving environment. We also supply different coloured mouthpieces and exhausts for regulator individualisation which is very useful when using multiple regulators with different mixes.

The XTX200 regulator incorporates a new front cover manufactured using high strength plastic which greatly improves the durability of the most vulnerable part of the demand valve and an aesthetically pleasing chrome plated metal insert immediately identifying this regulator as a top of the range model.

The new purge button has improved the purge itself. Due to the new open design the purge is self clearing and prevents debris build-up.

The new ergonomic Venturi lever of the XTX200 has been designed to reduce the amount of grit ingress and also incorporate an index-able, tactile / audible ratchet Venturi lever mechanism.

A new swivel hose connection is available at an extra cost. This allows the demand valve end of the hose connection to rotate and pivot, providing a more comfortable fit.

A new silicone exhaust valve has been used on the XTX200 regulator improving breathing performance.

Weight: Yoke 1280g ... DIN 1150g

The graph opposite shows the breathing cycle of the Apeks XTX200 regulator. Performance is calculated by plotting and recording this cycle. The inhalation line begins on the right hand side and runs along the bottom to the left. The first oscillation (termed the cracking spike) represents the effort required to initially open the valve and begin air delivery. Even at this testing depth the graph shows the low Work Of Breathing (WOB), indicating the diver is expending almost no energy in maintaining air flow. The cycle continues and the upper line (left to right) represents the WOB whilst exhaling (greater due to increased gas density at depth). The total WOB is calculated by measuring the total area within the loop - an incredible 0.41 Joules per Litre.

Apeks Regulators

With more than 30 years of experience, Apeks Marine Equipment, Ltd is one of the leading manufacturers of SCUBA regulators in the world. Our state of the art production facility and total control over every manufacturing process make Apeks regulators the industry benchmark for design, quality and performance.
Apeks regulators are ideal for use in any diving environment. Their unsurpassed performance under even the most extreme conditions is well known among diving professionals throughout the world. Diving Icon John Bennet, who is the first man ever to SCUBA dive to a depth of over 1000 feet, has long put his faith in Apeks for his record-breaking dives. John says it best when talking about Apeks regulators: "Apeks regulators breathe superbly, they are simply the best." Apeks offers a series of regulators that provide divers with a wide range of benefits. From the practical and robust XTX20 to the ultimate in performance and outward beauty, the Tungsten, all of these regulators share many common features that make them superior to their competition in any price range:

OVER-BALANCED DIAPHRAGM DESIGN
The heart of any regulator is the first stage. Most Apeks first stages utilize a unique Over-Balanced diaphragm design. In an over-balanced first stage design, the interstage pressure in the hose increases faster than traditional balanced models as a diver descends to greater depths. This increased interstage pressure compensates for the increased density of your breathing gas by allowing a larger volume of gas to flow through the system on demand. The result is superior breathing performance regardless of depth. The Over-balanced Diaphragm Design is found on Apeks Tungsten, XTX200, XTX100, XTX50, XTX40 and XTX50/DS4 first stages.

ENVIRONMENTAL DRY SEALING SYSTEM
Standard on most Apeks first stages is the unique Environmental Dry Sealing System. This system serves a number of purposes, including the prevention of ice build up on the main spring that can occur when diving in extremely cold water. Dry sealing the first stage also acts as a safeguard against the entry of contaminants and silt into the main spring chamber, and eliminates the need for messy silicone oil or grease filling inside your regulator. The Environmental Dry Sealing system is found on Apeks Tungsten, XTX200, XTX100, XTX50, XTX40 and XTX50/DS4 first stages.

PNEUMATICALLY BALANCED 2ND STAGE
All Apeks second stages feature a Pneumatically Balanced Valve System. In most second stage designs, the inhalation effort of the diver opens a valve inside the regulator that is held closed by spring tension. In the Apeks pneumatically balanced design, the pressure on the second stage valve is "balanced" by allowing medium pressure air to pass through to the opposite side of the valve to help counteract the force of the spring. This reduces the inhalation effort required to open the second stage valve and substantially improves the overall ease of breathing in all diving conditions.
